Sometimes, after the breast begins to develop, the breast may become very large during the teenage years due to genetic factors. Sometimes, a normal-sized breast may become very large as a result of hormonal changes during pregnancy and remain so after birth. Sometimes, the breasts can become very large as a result of certain diseases, obesity, using hormonal drugs. In breast growth, there is an increase in both the adipose tissue and the mammary gland tissue of the breast at varying rates. Whatever the reason, a very large breast brings with it many problems.
What are the Symptoms of Spleen Enlargement?
The causes of spleen enlargement can be listed as follows;
Anemia
Fatigue and weakness
Frequent exposure to infections
Feeling bloating and pressure on the stomach
Pain in the upper abdomen and burning sensation radiating to the shoulder
Each of the complaints that occur in spleen enlargement should be considered and an experienced physician should be consulted without delay. When the treatment process is delayed in spleen enlargement or when the wrong treatment is applied, spleen rupture may occur.
Difference of Breast Reduction from Other Aesthetic Surgeries
Although the aim of breast reduction surgery is to reduce the larger breast and create a more aesthetic appearance, the surgery is actually a reconstructive surgery, not an aesthetic one. According to me and many plastic surgeons who think like me, although the reduction of very large breasts reduces many problems that may occur in the future, it should not be evaluated aesthetically by private health insurances and state health institutions, but there is no such practice for now.
What Breast Reduction Provides
In breast reduction surgery, the breasts are reduced and reshaped according to the body size of the person, while giving the breasts a natural appearance. The operation eliminates the patient’s complaints due to large breasts and makes life easier.
Surgery Scars
Although aesthetic surgery is one of the fastest changing and developing fields in medicine, surgery without scars is not possible. For this reason, the ideas and expectations of the person about the surgery are very important. Before the operation, the patient should be informed sufficiently and realistically. The patient must thoroughly understand each subject. Especially young patients should understand the scars due to the surgery and possible damage to the mammary glands and decide accordingly when deciding on surgery. In addition, although the breasts are reduced in breast enlargement in young girls, sometimes regrowth can occur.
Breast reduction surgery usually gives good and permanent results, especially in people who have serious problems related to large and sagging breasts. The post-operative satisfaction of these people is very high. However, patients whose breasts are not too large and drooping than normal or who do not have many complaints such as pain, sores and rashes due to breast size will have much lower post-operative satisfaction if they have had breast reduction surgery because they only like small breasts. It is better for such patients not to have surgery.
Before Surgery
The size of the breast, how low the nipple is, the structure of the breast skin, the ratio of the mammary gland and adipose tissue in the breast size should be carefully evaluated as all factors will affect the success after the surgery. Mammography and breast ultrasound should also be performed while performing the necessary tests before the surgery.
Surgical Techniques
Breast reduction surgery is basically similar to breast lift surgery. The volume of the breast tissue is reduced, the excess skin is removed and the nipple is moved to where it should be. Whichever method is applied, there will definitely be a scar around the nipple. While in the past breast reduction surgeries have inverted T-shaped scars of varying length depending on the size of the breast, a straight scar, an outward-facing L or a small inverted T scar remains, depending on the amount of breast to be reduced and the sagging of the nipple, with the techniques applied recently. The shape and amount of the scar left after the operation is determined by the size of the breast, the surgical method applied and the characteristics of the breast skin. The scars on the breast are obvious at first, but become indistinct after a year or so. Since the risk of tissue death is very high when carrying the breasts with the tissue under the nipple in people with very large and drooping breasts, the operation techniques normally used may not be possible. In such cases, the technique in which the nipple ring is separated from the breast and carried freely (Thorek Technique) is used. In the Thorek Technique, the remaining trace is in the form of an inverted T. Only in patients with a large breast but a normal nipple can be reduced in volume with liposuction. However, if there is sagging with the size of the breast, reducing the volume with liposuction will cause the sagging of the breast to increase.

postoperative
Breast reduction surgery is performed in the hospital under general anesthesia in operating room conditions. The operation takes 3-5 hours. The patient is discharged in 1-2 days. Postoperative pain is not too much. Usually, a drain is placed in the breast to prevent blood accumulation. The drain is removed on the 3rd day. Stitches are removed after 7-10 days. The patient can usually return to work after 7-10 days, even if it is dressed. A special breast bra is worn for 1 month. Heavy sports should be avoided for 3 months.
The appearance of the breast that has been reduced and shaped with breast reduction surgery is permanent for a long time. However, reasons such as weight gain, pregnancy, lactation and gravity can cause breast growth and sagging in the future.
